Experimental Update Coming to Stampede: Racing Royale – Full Details

Sep 11, 2024

heyhey racers,

We wanted to let you know that a new update for Stampede: Racing Royale on Xbox Game Preview is planned to release in the coming days. This update will include significant, experimental changes to the overall format and experience, so we’re giving you a heads up on what’s coming, why it’s happening, and how you can let us know your thoughts.

What’s Happening?

A new update will soon be available to download on Xbox Series X|S, the Microsoft Store and the Xbox PC app. Once downloaded, you’ll notice some significant changes to Stampede: Racing Royale, including:

– Matches will consist of one round, instead of three
– Lobbies will feature 20 competitors, instead of 60
– Some tracks will feature fewer laps
– Special Events will be disabled
– A small number of server regions will be removed

Full patch notes will be shared in our usual spot, but these are the headline changes. These changes are not necessarily permanent – more on that below.

Why Is This Being Done?

Our dev team are always looking at ways to optimise the experience in Stampede for all players. With the game still in development on Xbox Game Preview, we can experiment with significant changes like these, assess their performance, and decide whether to maintain those tweaks in future updates.

The goal of this experimental update is to bring more players together, into the same lobbies, competing against each other and relying less on AI racers – a common feedback point from our community.

This comes ahead of a significant content update for Stampede, which will include a major drop of new features, items, and much more. Our team will assess the feedback and performance of these experimental changes, to determine if they are worth maintaining for that future update.

How Can You Share Your Thoughts?

As always, your thoughts and feedback are crucial to this process – we wanna hear what you like and don’t like on these experimental changes, and any further thoughts on what can be tweaked.

Our official Discord server is the best place to share your thoughts and speak with our team. We’ll be online regularly to chat with y’all and encourage all players to join the conversation! You can also share thoughts on our social channels across X, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube

As always, a massive thank you to the Stampede community for your support so far, and we’re looking forward to seeing your feedback. We’ll see you on the track!
