We’re checking in with a first Dev Log since the launch of Stampede: Racing Royale onto Xbox Game Preview!
A huge thank you to folks who’ve participated so far on Xbox Series X|S, or on Windows PC via the Xbox app and Microsoft Store. If you’re yet to play and interested in checking out Stampede, those are currently the platforms you can play on, for free, with no Xbox Game Pass subscription required.
Regarding a Steam Early Access release, our status remains the same: our team are working super hard to get everything ready to go on Steam, and we’ll share further details as soon as they’re confirmed.
THE JOURNEY SO FAR
Our first few weeks of Xbox Game Preview have been incredibly useful and insightful, as Stampede runs in a live and open environment for the first time. Being in Game Preview means the game remains very much in development, as we better understand what works and what needs tweaking over time.
Since Game Preview kicked off, we’ve already released four updates (one per week, the latest rolling out yesterday) to address player feedback, optimise performance, and generally improve your experience. That’s the goal throughout this stage of the game – listening closely and then moving quickly to continuously take Stampede forward.
THE ROAD AHEAD
Beyond fixes and polishing, this process has helped us outline additions and gameplay changes to prioritise; basically, new fun stuff for you to dive into. Work is ongoing now to bring these to the game via more updates. This will take place gradually and include fresh content, such as maps and customisation items.
We can’t wait to share more – in fact, we’ve been given permission to share this early content preview… see how many new things you can spot!
The entire team here are beyond thankful for the support and insight of our players at this early stage. It’s a blast working with y’all to understand what direction Stampede: Racing Royale should go next, and we’re excited to bring more updates and surprises in the coming weeks and months.
