We’re incredibly excited (like, really) to announce the next major milestone for Stampede: Racing Royale, as we launch the game on Steam, alongside a massive update that includes a very special collaboration.
There’s so much to share, so no more waiting around – let’s dive in…
STEAM LAUNCH FOR STAMPEDE!
Stampede: Racing Royale is officially live on Steam! Remaining completely free to play, this will be a full launch for Stampede, rather than an Early Access period. Cross-platform play will be live, meaning Steam players will be able to join lobbies against Xbox Game Preview folks, as well as make Friends and Party up by using the in-game Friend codes.
We’re continuing to use player feedback and suggestions to shape the future of Stampede, so with this in mind, some tweaks have been made to help all players enjoy the game. That includes removing in-app purchases from the game on all platforms, and giving all racers 3,000 Star Chips, so you can still progress and unlock all content. Full details on these changes and more are over on Steam.
After shaping the game with the Steam community via playtests last year, we’re incredibly grateful for your patience, and can’t wait for you to rejoin the herd!
DAVE THE DIVER JOINS STAMPEDE: RACING ROYALE!
Dig out the scuba suits and prepare your sushi snacks – Dave the Diver is entering the world of Stampede: Racing Royale!
In partnership with Mintrocket, our first official Stampede in-game collaboration sees Dave depart Bancho Sushi to join the wildest racing event in existence, complete with nautical-themed kart, sushi wheels, and more goodies.
The content is completely free for all players and you can grab it by selecting a free Shop bundle, available once the new update is live. You’ll first receive a brand new kart and character customisation options for Dave. This vehicle includes its own Kart Mastery tree, which features the remaining Dave the Diver items. Compete in Stampede events with the new kart to earn XP and unlock these new items, including sushi wheels, headgear, and profile avatars featuring Dave and Bancho!
MASSIVE CONTENT DROP – NEW TRACKS, KARTS, ITEMS
At the same time as our Steam launch, our biggest ever update for Stampede: Racing Royale will roll out! All players across Steam and Xbox Game Preview will receive the free update, delivering an array of new content, features, experiences, and more. We’ll let you know as soon as the update is ready to grab.
Compete for glory on six brand new maps! First up, we have Hardhat Havoc – a construction site turned into a wild, muddy, chaotic racetrack:
Then, we dig deeper into what makes the world of Stampede go round. Head to Wentworth Industries – a circuit built into the HQ of our fearless leaders. Watch out for prototype hazards and handle the conveyor belts!
Finally, we head over to the production line, as Conveyor Craze uses one of our many factories of fun to create a unique track with some sneaky shortcuts!
Look out for three more tracks on your journey to glory: Charging Cascades, Pilchard Plaza, and Cliffside Chaos.
Ready to get behind the wheel of some new rides to tear up those new tracks? Get ready for 6 (six!) new karts to discover in Stampede: Racing Royale, as part of this update.
First up, the Road Roarer 250, available for players who reach day 7 of our new daily calendar (more on that below). Three more karts – the Tenacious Truck, FrameLite Racer, and Super Sprinter, are unlockable via completing specific Challenges. The final two karts can be found in Kart Mastery progression trees; unlock the Rapid Racer within the Super Sprinter’s Kart Mastery, and get the Dust Devourer from the Tenacious Truck tree.
Phew! These karts are embedded in new experiences and improved features, giving you even more reasons to keep playing Stampede. Speaking of which…
Get ready to find over 250 new customisation items in this Stampede: Racing Royale update! Expect fresh wraps and wheels for all karts, new profile avatars, and sweet outfits, headgear and accessories for your character.
From animal suits and construction worker outfits, to psychedelic kart skins and wild wheel designs, you’ll find and unlock new gear across all areas of the game. Keep playing, progressing, and achieving to get the rarest stuff!
KEY GAMEPLAY CHANGES
On the track, you’ll see and feel new changes to Stampede’s gameplay, driven by community feedback. As well as a general increase to gameplay speed, our Boost system has been tweaked. Alongside triggering a surge of speed via boost pads and slipstreaming, players can now accumulate boost by drifting and getting airborne, for you to deploy manually.
More variation and unpredictability comes with new Round Modifiers, including extra track variants and moving power-up boxes. Look out for the ‘Hard Mode’ option which can be randomly applied to any round. If you’re hit by a track hazard in Hard Mode, like a laser or stomping block, you’re immediately eliminated, so watch out!
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE!
There’s so much more that we’ve packed into this update, including a new Daily Calendar that’ll reward all players for each of the first seven days they jump into Stampede: Racing Royale, ending with the big reward of the Road Roarer 250 kart.
‘Crowns’ are a new profile stat to show off – the higher you finish in every match, the more Crowns you’ll earn. Kart Mastery has also been levelled up, with multiple perks now in every Kart Mastery tree.
The new ‘Jelly Block’ power-up will trigger gelatinous cubes to form on the track that’ll slow down your rivals, and there’s also a new Special Event, ‘Wrapid’, to keep an eye out for. Improvements to visuals, balancing, and quality of life are all in there too, and we’ll share full patch notes before the update goes live.
